Baby Potato Fry

Kids favorite !!

This aromatic baby potato steals the hearts of one and all .In my household it makes a wholesome meal and it works for a lazy day or no mood cooking day where only this and curd rice will suffice the lunch of the day.



Serves : 3

Cooking Time : 25 min



Ingredients :

Baby potato 150 gms

Onion 1

Tomato 1

Curry leaves a few

Chilly powder ½ tsp

Turmeric ¼ tsp

Oil 1 tsp

Salt to taste


Grind to coarse powder :

Fennel ½ tsp

Cinnamon 1’


Method :

Boil , peel and cut into halves the baby potato set aside.

In a pan heat oil add onions and curry leaves , let onions change colour.

Add tomato and allow it to get mushy.

Now time to add the ground spice powder , potatoes, chilly powder turmeric and salt.

Keep stirring it on slow flame till oil secretes and the raw smell leaves.

Serve hot with Rice / Roti.

Makes a wonderful combination with curd rice.


Note :

For a variation with potatoes green peas can be used.

Cauliflower can also be prepared in the same way.
