Banyard Millet Pongal

Pongal Special !!

Who does 'nt like Pongal !!

A swooning Delicacy in a healthy way !!



Serves : 3

Cooking time : 40 min


Ingredients :

Banyard millet 1 cup

Moong dhal 2 tbsp

Ginger ½ tsp

Green chilly 1 (optional)

Cashew 7

Jeera ¼ tsp

Pepper ¼ tsp

Curry leaves a few

Asafetida ¼ tsp

Ghee & oil 2 tsp

Salt to taste


Method :

In a cooker heat oil add jeera ,pepper ,as it splutters add green chilly , cashew , ginger and curry leaves.

Add the washed millet dhal mixture and toss.

Add asafetida , salt and 3 cups water mix well and cook under pressure for 10 min.

Generously add ghee ,mix well and serve hot .

Green coconut chutney or sambar or pongal kuzhambu or tomatoe goggu will be a good combination.
