Beans With Moong Dhal Poriyal

A simple yet protein rich poriyal.This holds a place undoubtedly in a vegetarian spread.Easy to make and healthy too !!


Serves : 2-3

Cooking Time : 20 min


Ingredients :

Beans a cup ( chopped )

Moong dhal 11/2 tbsp

Coconut 1-2 tbsp ( grated )

Small onions a few

Curry leaves a few

Green chilly 1 ( slit )

Mustard ¼ tsp

Uradh dhal ¼ tsp

Channa dhal ¼ tsp

Salt to taste

Coconut oil 1 tsp


Method :

In a kadai heat oil ,add mustard, urad dhal and channa dhal .allow it to splutter.

Add curry leaves ,chilly and small onions ,let it change colour .

Add the washed dhal with little water and salt ,give it a mix .

Close with a lid and cook ,till dhal is soft .

Add the beans with salt ,close and cook ,till beans is soft .

Open the lid and fry till water has evaporated .

Add coconut and toss.

Serve hot with rice or roti.
