A very spicy chutney ,the sweetness of the vegetable with chilly and tamarind gives an amazing taste.
Serves : 3 TO 4 persons
Cooking Time : 30 to 40 min
Ingerdients :
Beetroot 1 no [medium size –peeled and grated ]
Red chilly 3 nos
Channa dhal 1 to11/2 tbs
Urad dhal 1 to 11/2 tbs
Tamarind ½ “ piece
Coconut 2 to 3 tbs [grated]
Oil 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Method :
In a kadai heat oil add channa dhal as it changes colour add urad dhal ,when that browns add chilly,then add the grated beetroot and fry for 7 to 10 minutes on slow fire.Switch off the flame ,add coconut tamarind and salt. When it turns to room temperature grind it to coarsely .
Suits well with steaming rice,dosa ,iddli.
