Loaded with iron rich beetroot , protein ( toor dhal ) species and coconut is simply a beautiful combination.
Serves : 3
Cooking Time : 30 min
Ingredients :
Beetroot 1 cup ( grated )
Coconut 3 tbsp
Fennel ½ tsp
Red chilly 2 ( to taste )
Cinnamon 2”
Coriander leaves a handful
Toor dhal 3 tbsp ( soaked for 2 hrs )
Salt to taste
Oil to deep fry
Method :
Heat oil in a pan , add grated beetroot and fry well ,till it becomes dry.
Grind the dhal, chilly ,curry leaves ,fennel ,cinnamon ,half of the coriander leaves ,salt and coconut coarsely.
To this add the beetroot and grind such that the vegetable blends well with dhal mixture
Add the remaining chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
Make small balls and set aside.
Heat oil , flatten the round and fry to golden brown .
Serve hot.
