Carrot Rice

This is an aromatic rice ,with loads of vitamin A is very tasty and healthy.The white and orange mixture is very ravishing.



Serves : 2

Cooking Time : 30 min


Ingredients :


Basmathi rice 1 cup (washed &drained)

Carrot 1 cup (grated )

Onion 1 (chopped )

Green Chilly 3-4 (slit )

Cinnamon 1”

Bay leaf 1

Oil&ghee 2 tbsp

Salt to taste


Method :

In a pressure pan / cooker heat oil &ghee add cinnamon , bay leaf ,green chilly allow it to fry for 2 minutes.

Add onions ,fry till transparent.

Now add the rice and give it a toss.

Add 1 ½ cup water,grated carrot, salt and stir it .Close the lid and cook under pressure for 10 min.

Serve hot.


This vitamin A enriched rice will be loved by kids and good for lunch box packing.
