Chettinad Chicken Fry

A very easy ,but tasty dish.The fennel gives an aromatic flavour and chillies gives the spicy tinge.



Cooking time : 30 min

Serves : 3

Ingredients :

Chicken 500 gms

Green chilly 6-7

Red chilly 4-6

Onions 2

Fennel 1 tsp

Curry leaves a few

Chilly powder 1 ½ tsp

Turmeric ¼ tsp

Lime juice 1tsp

Salt to taste

Oil 1 tbsp


Method :

Marinate chicken with chilly powder ,turmeric, salt and lime juice for at least 30 min.

In a pan heat oil ,throw in fennel ,as it splutters add the chillies and toss.

Add onions ,allow it to brown.

Add the marinated chicken ,mix well ,add little water ,close and cook till meat is soft .

In case water remains open the lid and fry well.

Garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot .

Makes an excellent side dish.
