Chicken Red Roast

A rich drooling curry !!

Always a super duper hit in a spread. Though it is made with minimalist ingredients always in stock at most of the household ,it is a scrumptious dish.


Serves : 4

Cooking Time : 45 min


Ingredients :

Chicken 500 gms

Tomatoes 4-5 ( blanched &pureed )

Onions 2

Green chilly 2

Bay leaf 2

Cinnamon 2

Cardamom 2

Red chilly powder 1-2 tsp

Coriander powder 1tsp

Oil 2 tbsp

Salt to taste


Grind to paste :

Garlic 5-6 pearls

Ginger ½ tsp

Poppy seeds 1 tsp

Method :

In boiling water add the tomatoes allow it to cook for 5 min & switch off.

Cool it peel the skin and blend it .

In a pan heat oil add the bay leaf , cinnamon and cardamom .

As it splutters add onions , green chilly and fry till brown.

Now add the ground paste and toss.

Add the chicken and toss.

Time to add the powders and mix well.

Add the tomato puree with required water and salt to taste, close and cook till meat is tender.

Garnish with coriander leaves.
