Creamy coriander masala is inviting dish which is simply delicious and one of the favourites of our household. This dish is always present in a spread when my Mom invited guests since it was one of her favourite. For her this is a must have dish otherwise her spread is incomplete. The addition of Poppy seeds gives the masala a beautiful creamy texture.
Cooking time : 20 min
Serves : 5-6
Ingredients :
Eggs 6 ( boiled and de-shelled )
Onion 1 -2 ( chopped )
Tomato 1 -2 ( chopped )
Cinnamon 1’’
Curry leaves a few
Salt to taste
Oil 11/2 tsp
Grind to paste :
Coriander leaves a handful
Green chilly 4 – 5
Small onions a handful
Coriander powder 1 tsp
Poppy seeds ¾ tsp
Cinnamon 1’’
Turmeric ¼ tsp
Method :
In a pan heat oil ,throw in cinnamon let it splutter.
Throw in curry leaves ,onions and allow it to get brown.
Add tomatoes ,allow it to get mushy.
Now add the ground paste with some and cook till raw smell leaves ,required consistency is reached.
Add the boiled eggs and give it a good boil.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with pulau/chappathi/dosa/parotta.
Note :
Coconut milk can be added finally to give it a even more creamy texture.
