Curried Prawns

Prawns is the tastiest of sea foods in my opinion .Prawn is cooked with whole spices ,curry powder and ginger garlic ,which results in a delicious gravy . One can never go wrong with this recipe and it is easy to make too.


Serves : 3-4

Cooking Time : 30 min


Ingredients :

Prawns 200 gms

Onions 2 ( sliced )

Curry leaves a few

Turmeric ¼ tsp

Curry powder ½ tsp

Coriander leaves to garnish

Oil 1 tbsp

Salt to taste


Grind to a paste :

Ginger ½ ‘

Garlic 2 pearls

Green chilly 4

Cloves 2

Cinnamon 2”


Method :

Marinate the prawns for minimum of 30 min with the ground paste .

In a pan heat oil ,throw in onions and curry leaves .Let it get brown .

Add the marinated prawns with little water and give it a good mix .Close and cook (10 min )

Make sure prawns don’t get over cooked as it would get rubbery.

Check if the prawns are cooked ,if so simmer till oil floats on the surface.

Garnish with coriander leaves .

Serve hot with rice or pathri (rice roti ) or roti.
