A simple mild, aromatic rice,kids friendly and suits all curries.The most easiest thing to make on lazy daisy day.
Serves : 3
Cooking Time : 40 min
Ingredients :
Jeeraka samba 2 cups
Ginger garlic paste 11/2 tsp
Green chilly 7 – 8
Coriander leaves a few
Mint leaves a cup
Onions 2 ( sliced )
Tomato 1 ( chopped )
Bay leaf 2
Cardamom 2
Cinnamon 2”
Oil &ghee 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Method :
In a pressure cooker heat oil & ghee ,throw in spices ,as it spultters add onions & green chilly , let it brown.
Add tomatoes and allow it to get mushy.
Add mint leaves and fry well.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry .
Throw in coriander leaves and toss.
Now time to add the rice and toss.
Add salt to taste.
Time to add water – 4 cups , mix well .
Cook under pressure for 10 – 15 min on slow flame.
Open after pressure is released ,mix well.
Add a spoon of ghee and mix well.
note :
A cup coconut milk can be added with water ,this will give an enriched taste.
