Lime Rasam

Lime Rasam is an authentic dish of the south India.

Made of dhal water and spices considered to be the most easily digested food and its a must have in any menu ,since it aids in digestion.



Serves : 4

Cooking Time : 30 min


Ingredients :

Tomatoes 2 ( pureed )

Garlic 2 pearls ( crushed )

Lime ½ ( juice )

Rasam Powder ¼ tsp

Asafoetida ¼ tsp

Mustard ¼ tsp

Red chilly 1

Curry leaves a few

Ghee ½ tsp

Dhal water 1 big cup

Coriander leaves to garnish


Method :

Cook the tomatoes with garlic, salt , rasam powder ,asafoetida and ¼ cup water, let it reduce in quantity.

Now add dhal water ,let it froth up on the surface ,switch off the flame.

Tamper mustard ,red chilly ,curry leaves in ghee and add to the dahl water mixture.

Add the lime juice and garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot with steaming Rice and Appalam .
