An exquisite dish !! All time favorite !!
No one can resist a second helping.The tamarind and the spice enhances the taste and the actual sour taste of the vegetable disappears.

Cooking Time 30 min
Ingredients :
Manathakaali 1 cup
Small onions 8
Garlic 7-8
Red chilly 1
Salt to taste
Curry leaves a few
Tamarind extract 1 cup
Fry in oil and grind :
Red chilly 4
Small onions 8-10
Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
Turmeric ¼ tsp
Coconut 2 tbsp
Puffed gram 1 tsp ( optional )
Method :
In a kadai heat oil fry the manathakaali till it cracks and set aside.
In the same kadai add more oil if necessary add onions,red chilly allow it change colour.
Add coriander seeds ,turmeric and toss.
Add coconut and give a mix .Blend to a smooth paste.
In a kadai heat oil add mustard ,urad dhal let it splutter.
Add chopped onions ,garlic ,curry leaves ,red chilly and saute it.
Time to add tamarind extract and give it a boil.
Add the paste with required water , salt and the manathakaali .
Let it simmer till oil floats on the surface.
Serve hot with rice / dosa /idly.
