Mango Phirni

A marvellous dish which is so flavourful with a blend of basmathi rice ,milk and mangoes. This desert with the king of fruits is certainly kind of desert too.One of my childhood favourite desert and always never contented with one helping.


Serves :4

Cooking time : 40 min


Ingredients:

Milk I liter( 4 cups )

Basmathi Rice 1 cup

Sugar 1 -11/2 cups(to taste )

Ripe mangoes 2 nos


Method :

Soak the rice for 1 hour.

Grind to smooth paste.

In a thick bottomed pan boil milk, as it boils simmer the flame, add the ground rice paste.

Make sure no lumps are formed and keep stirring it on and off for a few minutes , till the raw smell leaves.

Now add sugar and cook well till the rice and sugar blends well which may take a couple of more minutes.

Allow it to cool in the fridge.

Chop the ripe mango into small pieces.

Just before serving add the mango pieces to the rice mixture .

Tastes best when served cold.
