My favourite chutney !!
This was my grand mothers specialty !!
In the earlier times when a mixie was not prevalent ,she would just mix it well with her hands.She would always use old tamarind mentioning that would only give a good taste, but of course the colour was not appealing.
Serve : 2
Cooking time : 10 min
Ingredients :
Coconut 1 cup
Cumin ¾ tsp
Puffed gram 1tsp
Curry leaves a few
Red chilly powder ½ tsp
Tamarind extract 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Method :
Grind all the ingredients to a coarse paste.
Transfer to a cup.
Tamper it with mustard ,urad dhal and curry leaves . ( optional )
Serve with Appam ,idly ,dosa.
