Mushroom Pulao

A very mild spicy pulao which never fails to captures eveybody's heart .This is a mouth watering one which is also good on the stomach.A good choice for lunch box kids will love this.


Serves : 3

Cooking Time : 45 min


Ingredients :


Basmathi Rice 1 cup

Ginger garlic paste 1 – 11/2 tsp

Onions 1 (chopped )

Mint leaves a handful

Green chilly 4 ( to taste )

Bay leaf 1

Cinnamon 2 “

Cardamon 2

Salt to taste

Oil 1- 2 tbsp

Mushrooms 200 gms

Coriander leaves to garnish


Method :

In a cooker heat oil add the whole spices , as it splutters add onions ,allow it to brown.

Add green chilly ,mint leaves and chopped mushrooms and toss.

Add water ( approx. 2 – 21/2 ) as it boils add rice, salt and stir .

Close with a lid and cook for 10 – 15 min under pressure .

Garnish with coriander leaves .

Serve hot with onion raita.


Note :

Lime juice can be added too ,if preferred.

A spoon of ghee can be added with coriander leaves.
