Mutton Kuzhambu With Potato

A typical south Indian style mutton kuzhambu !!

Flavourful Drooling Treat !!

This Mutton Kuzhambu is a simple yet high on taste .The dry roasting of the species, blended with coconut and tomato makes the texture creamy and rich. The addition of Potatoes make it smooth and tasteful.


Serves : 4

Cooking Time : 30 min


Ingredients :

Mutton 250 gms

Potato 1 ( cubed )

Onion 1 ( sliced )

Curry leaves a few

Turmeric ¼ tsp

Mustard ¼ tsp

Salt to taste

Oil 11/2 tbsp


Dry roast and grind :

Red chilly 2

Green chilly 2

Coriander seeds ¾ tbsp

Cumin ½ tsp

Fennel ½ tsp

Cloves 2-3

Cinnamon 1’

Poppy Seeds ½ tsp

Coconut 2 tbsp

Tomato 1


Method :

Heat oil in a cooker add mustard ,allow it to crackle.

Add onions ,curry leaves ,let it get brown.

Add the meat and toss.

Now add the ground masala and toss.

Add water , turmeric , salt and close and cook for meat to get soft.

Now add potato cook well raw smell leaves.

Garnish with coriander leaves.

Serve hot .
