Pallipalayam Chicken

Easy and Simple to make .Chicken cooked with broken red chilly and small onions make it special ,and finally the addition of coconut makes it rich ,and very delicious. Pallipalayam Chicken is a all time favourite and can never go wrong.




Serves : 5

Cooking Time : 40 min


Ingredients :

Small onions 1 cup ( chopped )

Chicken 700 gms

Turmeric ¼ tsp

Red chilly 20 -25 ( broken )

Curry leaves a few

Coconut 1 cup ( chopped )

Oil 1-1/2 tbsp

Salt to taste

Coriander leaves to garnish


Method :

In a cooker or pan heat oil ,add onions and fry till transparent.

Add few curry leaves and toss.

Add turmeric and toss.

Add broken red chilly and toss.

Add chicken and salt , give it a good toss.

Add water ,close and cook till meat is soft. ( not necessary to cook under pressure )

When meat is soft open the lid and ,keep stirring well till it gets dry.

Now add the chopped coconut and give a stir.

Garnish with coriander leaves .

Serve hot with rice / roti /Dosa.
