Potato Podimas is a simple dish but will be present in a veg spread at our household .This dish can never go wrong and steals the taste buds without fail. This was my favourite dish as a kid and it would always take a place in the lunch box every week without fail. If when there was a question what was wanted for lunch , this dish was definitely asked for.
Serves : 2-3
Cooking Time : 30 min
Ingredients :
Potatoes 150 gms(boiled &smashed)
Coconut 2-3 tbsp (grated)
Small Onions 4-5(chopped )
Green Chilly 1
Curry leaves a few
Mustard 1/4tsp
Urad dhal 1/4 tsp
Channa dhal 1/4 tsp
Turmeric 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tsp
Method :
In a pan heat oil ,throw in mustard ,urad dhal and channa dhal one one by one, let it splutter.
Throw in green chilly ,curry leaves and onions and toss, till the colour changes.
Now add the grated coconut and give a mix.
Add the potatoes ,salt and lime juice and mix well.
Let it blend well .
Serve hot with rice or roti.
