Ridge gourd with peanut

The nut enriches the vegetable which results in a very flavorful residue.This dish alone can suffice one meal .


Serves :2

Cooking time : 20 min


Ingredients :


Ridge gourd 200 gms ( chopped )

Curry leaves a few

Turmeric ¼ tsp

Mustard ¼ tsp

Urad dhal ¼ tsp

Salt to taste

Oil 1 tsp


Dry roast and grind to coarse paste :

Onions 1 (chopped)

Peanuts 1 tbsp

Red chilly 2

Coconut 1 -2 tbs


Method :

In a pan heat oil add mustard ,urad dhal ,as it turns brown add onions ,allow it to become transparent.

Now add the ridge gourd with ground paste ,water and salt.

Close with a lid and let it cook till soft.

Open he lid and fry for few minutes.

Serve hot with rice.
