Sabudana Pongal

Festive must haves !!

A classic sathvic food !!

A pongal with classic variation and certainly a healthy treat .This is very light on the stomach too.This is a very nutritious and is permitted on fasting days too.

Serves : 3

Cooking Time : 30 min


Ingredients :

Sabuana a cup

Moong dhal 2 tbsp

Cashew 6-7

Ginger ½ tsp ( chopped )

Curry leaves a few

Cumin ½ tsp

Pepper ¾ tsp

Coconut 1-2 tbsp

Green chilly 3 ( optional )

Asafetida a pinch

Ghee 1 – 2 tbsp


Method

Dry roast the sabudana & moong dhal .

In a pan heat 11/2 cups of water , as it boils add salt and sabudana & moong dhal ,mix well close with a lid and cook till soft.( approx 10 -15 min )

In a pan heat ghee add pepper , cumin allow it splutters .

Add the chopped ginger , green chilly , curry leaves and cashew ,allow it to brown and add it to the cooked sabudana mixture and mix well.

Add asafetida , coconut and lime juice and mix well .

Serve hot with coconut chutney .
