Spicy Raw Mango Curry

Spicy Raw Mango Curry is a drooling curry. This Curry is simple yet a tongue twister ,also a big treat to the taste buds. The species fried and ground with addition of brown sugar is simply splendid.


Serves : 5-6

Cooking Time : 40 min


Ingredients :

Oil 11/2tbsp

Fenugreek 1/4 tsp

Mustard 1/4 tsp

Curry leaves a few

Brown sugar 2-3 tsp

Mangoes 3-4(chopped )

Salt to taste


Fry in oil & grind to paste :

Small Onions 10-15

Curry leaves a few

Turmeric 1/4 tsp

Cumin 3/4tsp

Coriander powder 2tsp

Red chilly powder 2-3tsp

Coconut 1 cup(grated )


Method :

In a pan heat oil ,throw in fenugreek ,mustard ,curry leaves and toss it.

Add the chopped mangoes and salt ,stir it .

Add the ground paste with required consistency water,give a good mix.

Now add brown sugar ,give a mix.

Close and cook ,let the mangoes get tender.

Now if the raw smell exists ,let it open and boil it subsides.

Serve hot with rice , roti ,dosa.

It can be stored and used too.
