Spicy Tomato Thokku is one of favourite of the household and is present there on the weekly menu without fail. This is a very suitable side dish for the South Indian breakfast or dinner. The tanginess of tomato with species is simply delicious .

Cooking Time : 30 min
Ingredients :
Tomato 3-4 (pureed )
Onions 1 ( sliced )
Turmeric ¼ tsp
Red chilly powder ½ - ¾ tsp ( to tase )
Salt to taste
Mustard ¼ tsp
Urad dhal ¼ tsp
Oil 1 tbsp
Method :
In a pan heat oil ,throw in mustard ,urad dhal ,allow it to splutter.
Add onions ,curry leaves ,green chilly ,turmeric and toss till onions are transparent.
Add the pureed tomato ,chilli powder ,salt and boil till raw smell leaves.
Garnish with coriander leaves .
Serve hot with Pongal , Dosa , Iddly .
