Tomato kurma

Spicy tany rich treat !!

Its a sure shot and captivating .The coconut combined with spices is always a taste enhancer .


Serves : 4

Cooking time : 40 min


Ingredients :


Grind and extract a milky liquid :

Puffed gram dhal 1 tbsp

Poppy seeds 1tsp

Coriander seeds 1tbsp

Grated coconut 4 tbsp

Ginger ¾ “

Garlic 5

For seasoning :

Small tomato 15 ( blanched )

Big onion 1 ( chopped )

Red chilly powder 1 ½ tsp

Cinnamon 4

Cloves 4

Oil 1 tbsp

Salt to taste

Coriander leaves to garnish


Method :

In a pan heat oil throw in spices , as it splutters add onions and fry till transparent.

Now add the blanched tomatoes and toss.

Add chilly powder ,the extracted milk and salt.

Allow it to boil closed with a lid till the raw smell leaves .

Garnish with coriander leaves.


Serve hot with roti / idlly /doas.
