Heart throb !! Yummy as ever !!
Yam chops one of the delicacy which always prevails in a wedding spread or be it any special occasion. It tastes almost like mutton .It is one of the favourite in our household. This one single dish will suffice the meal at our household.
Serves :
Cooking Time : 30 min
Ingredients :
Yam 250 gms (cubed)
Onion 1 (chopped)
Cinnamon 1’’
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tbsp
Curry leaves a few
Red chilly 1(optional)
Grind to paste :
Coconut 2tbsp grated
Coriander powder ¾ tsp
Chilly powder ¾ tsp
Fennel ¼ tsp
Cinnamon 1’’
Cloves 2
Cardamon 2
Poppy seeds ¾ tsp
Turmeric ¼ tsp
Method :
In a pan heat oil throw in cinnamon ,allow it to splutter.
Add onions, red chilly and curry leaves .Let it change colour.
Now add the paste,give it a toss.
Add the yam pieces ,salt water,give it a good mix.
Close and cook on low flame till the yam is soft.
Now open the lid and cook till raw smell fades away.
Serve hot with rice/roti.
