Festive must haves !!
A classic sathvic food !!
A pongal with classic variation and certainly a healthy treat .This is very light on the stomach too.This is a very nutritious and is permitted on fasting days too.
Ingredients :
- Sabuana a cup
- Moong dhal 2 tbsp
- Cashew 6-7
- Ginger ½ tsp ( chopped )
- Curry leaves a few
- Cumin ½ tsp
- Pepper ¾ tsp
- Coconut 1-2 tbsp
- Green chilly 3 ( optional )
- Asafetida a pinch
- Ghee 1 – 2 tbsp
Method
- Dry roast the sabudana & moong dhal .
- In a pan heat 11/2 cups of water , as it boils add salt and sabudana & moong dhal ,mix well close with a lid and cook till soft.( approx 10 -15 min )
- In a pan heat ghee add pepper , cumin allow it splutters .
- Add the chopped ginger , green chilly , curry leaves and cashew ,allow it to brown and add it to the cooked sabudana mixture and mix well.
- Add asafetida , coconut and lime juice and mix well .
- Serve hot with coconut chutney .
