One of the most sought after delicacy in our household.Very easy aromatic rice.Although its quickly made ,its taste is simply superb.Always steals the hearts of the tasters.

Ingredients :

  • Seerakagasamba Rice 1 cup
  • Mochakottai 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste ¾ tsp
  • Onion 1
  • Tomato 1
  • Cinnamon 2
  • Cloves 2
  • Cardamom 2
  • Red chilly 1
  • Green chilly 1
  • Chilly powder ¾ tsp
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Oil & ghee 11/2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method :

  • In a cooker heat oil ghee ,add the whole spices ,allow it to splutter.
  • Add the green & red chilly with curry leaves and toss.
  • Add onions and let it brown.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and toss.
  • Add tomato toss, add salt , let it get mushy.
  • Add the turmeric and chilly powder ,toss.
  • Add the mochakottai and toss, add water ,close and cook under pressure for one or two whistles.
  • When the pressure is released add water , then the rice .
  • Check the salt and spices and close and cook for 10 min.
  • Release the pressure add ghee ( optional ) and mix well .
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with ratia.
