This a simple yet tasty ,aromatic rice.

Made with minimalistic ingredients always available in the household. The highly aromatic basmati rice with mild flavoured coriander leaves is a beautiful combination. This is a perfect lunch box recipe and also one for easy go lazy days .

Ingredients :

  • Basmati Rice 11/2 cups
  • Onion 1
  • Coriander leaves 1 cup
  • Green chilly 2
  • Red chilly powder ½ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 11/2 tbsp

Method :

  • In a cooker heat oil ,add onions ,fry well.
  • Add green chillies and fry.
  • Add coriander ( half cup ) and toss.
  • Add the rice and give a toss.
  • Now add the chilly powder and toss.
  • Add salt and water ( 1: 3 ) and mix well .
  • When the water starts boiling add the remaining coriander leaves and give a quick mix.
  • Close the lid.
  • Heat a dosa tawa and place the cooker on top of it ( for dhum )and wait for the steam to arrive ,then place the weight and reduce the flame. Cook for 10 -12 min.
  • Wait for the pressure to get released ,give a gentle mix.
  • Drizzle ghee on top and give a gentle mix.
  • Serve hot with raita |kurma |gravy.
