A simple mild, aromatic rice,kids friendly and suits all curries.The most easiest thing to make on lazy daisy day.

Ingredients :

  • Jeeraka samba 2 cups
  • Ginger garlic paste 11/2 tsp
  • Green chilly 7 – 8
  • Coriander leaves a few
  • Mint leaves a cup
  • Onions 2 ( sliced )
  • Tomato 1 ( chopped )
  • Bay leaf 2
  • Cardamom 2
  • Cinnamon 2”
  • Oil &ghee 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method :

  • In a pressure cooker heat oil & ghee ,throw in spices ,as it spultters add onions & green chilly , let it brown.
  • Add tomatoes and allow it to get mushy.
  • Add mint leaves and fry well.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry .
  • Throw in coriander leaves and toss.
  • Now time to add the rice and toss.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Time to add water – 4 cups , mix well .
  • Cook under pressure for 10 – 15 min on slow flame.
  • Open after pressure is released ,mix well.
  • Add a spoon of ghee and mix well.

note :

  • A cup coconut milk can be added with water ,this will give an enriched taste.
