Prawn Fry

A tasty yet simple ,easy dish. Makes one drool over.

One of my favorite and one of the best dish which my mom used to make.

Ingredients :

  • Prawns 250 gms
  • Ginger garlic paste ½ tsp
  • Onion 1
  • Garlic 1 tbsp ( chopped )
  • Lime ½
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Pepper ½ tsps
  • Capsicum ½ ( yellow & green )
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Green chilly 1 ( optional )
  • Red chilly powder ½ tsp
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method :

  • To the prawns add lime juice ,turmeric ,chilly powder and salt.( marinate for 20 min )
  • In a pan heat oil ,add onions ,allow it to brown.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry well.
  • Now add curry leaves ,green chilly and garlic , toss a bit.
  • Add the prawns ,mix well ,add a little water ,close and cook till it is soft.( 5-7 min)
  • Care should be taken not to over cook ,as the prawns will turn rubbery.
  • Once it is cooked ,open the lid ,fry well till oil seperates.
  • Ground in pepper and mix.
  • Garnish with capsicum and coriander leaves.
