Kodomillet with mixed dhal

This is one of the easy recipe which is like a kind of one pot cooking .Its a craving sometimes on rainy days or on a no mood to cook day. It is a very healthy option .

Ingredients :-

  • Kodomillet 1 cup( any millet of your choice )
  • Mixed dhal ½ cup(tur,greengram,channa )
  • Mustard ½ tsp
  • Black gram dhal ½ tsp
  • Onion 1 (chopped )
  • Tomatoe 1 ( chopped )
  • Green chilly 1or 2 ( to taste )
  • Cinnamon 1 ‘’
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Red chilly 1
  • Red chilly powder ¼ tsp ( to taste )
  • Grated coconut 1-2 tbsp
  • Oil & ghee 1-11/2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Coriander leaves 2 tbsp ( chopped)

Method :-

  • In cooker heat ghee /oil.
  • Add mustard ,uradh dhal ,allow it to splutter.
  • Add cinnamon stick,then onions let it change colour.
  • Then add tomotoes ,curry leaves ,chillies give it a mix.
  • When the tomatoes get mushy add the washed dhal & millet mixture .
  • Add powders, salt, water , give it a mix ,check the taste .
  • Close & cook for 10 minutes under pressure.
  • Wait for the pressure to be released,stir slowly.
  • Drizzle ghee on top & garnish with coriander leaves.

Note :-

Any vegetable of your choice can be addedwhile adding the powders.(best choice of veggies will be carrot ,beans,peas,bottle guard,white pumkin ,palak )
