A simple wholesome meal !!
Healthy and tasty.
This serves good for a lazy day or for a quick fix.
Ingredients :
- Rice 1 cup
- Moong dhal 3 tbsp
- Bottle Gourd 1 cup ( chopped )
- Onions 1
- Green Chilly 1
- Red chilly 2
- Red chilly powder ½ tsp
- Curry leaves a few
- Coconut 2 -3 tbsp
- Turmeric ¼ tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil 1 1/2 tbp
- Mustard ¼ tsp
- Urad dhal ¼ tsp
Method :
- In a cooker heat oil ,add mustard ,urad dhal allow it to splutter.
- Add onions ,green and red chilly with curry leaves .
- Time to add chopped bottle gourd and toss.
- Add chilly powder, turmeric and toss.
- Now add the washed rice and dhal mixture with 3 cups water.
- Add salt , coconut and coriander leaves.
- Mix well .Close and cook under pressure for 10 to 15 min.
- Release pressure and give it a mix.
- Drizzle ghee on top.
- Serve hot with ghee , papad and pickle.
