Chettinad Chicken Fry

A very easy ,but tasty dish.The fennel gives an aromatic flavour and chillies gives the spicy tinge.

Ingredients :

  • Chicken 500 gms
  • Green chilly 6-7
  • Red chilly 4-6
  • Onions 2
  • Fennel 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Chilly powder 1 ½ tsp
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Lime juice 1tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 1 tbsp

Method :

  • Marinate chicken with chilly powder ,turmeric, salt and lime juice for at least 30 min.
  • In a pan heat oil ,throw in fennel ,as it splutters add the chillies and toss.
  • Add onions ,allow it to brown.
  • Add the marinated chicken ,mix well ,add little water ,close and cook till meat is soft .
  • In case water remains open the lid and fry well.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot .
  • Makes an excellent side dish.
