Captivating Dish !!

A creamy textured gravy which is always the bulls eye in a spread .Coconut milk with meat and vegetables enriches the flavor. This splendid dish turns out well for amateur too.

Ingredients :

  • Mutton 250 gms
  • Potato 2 ( diced )
  • Green peas a handful
  • Onions 2 (sliced)
  • Green chilly 10 – 15 ( to taste )
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Bay leaf 2
  • Cardamom 3
  • Cinnamon 2 (1’ piece )
  • Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
  • Coconut oil 1 ½ tbsp.
  • Salt to taste
  • Coconut milk ½ cup ( diluted )
  • Coconut milk 1 cup ( thick )

Method :

  • Pressure cook the meat with salt and 1 ½ tsp of ginger garlic paste ,till tender.
  • In a heated pan heat oil ,throw in whole spices ,let it splutter.
  • Add onions , green chilly and curry leaves.
  • As onions turn transparent add the vegetables and give it a toss.
  • Add ½ tsp ginger garlic paste , salt and toss.
  • Now add the diluted coconut milk stir well ,close and cook till vegetables are tender.
  • Now add the cooked meat and give it a boil and switch off the flame.
  • Time to add the thick coconut milk stir well.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with appam / idiyaapam /bread.

Note :

  • Vegetables like carrot ,beans ,cauliflower ,brocolli can be used.
  • Chicken or beef can be used instead of mutton .
