My favourite curry which has a fantastic taste. Combination of mangoes with green chilly , chilli powder and curd enhances the taste of it .In my opinion it tastes much much better the next day.

Ingredients :

  • Ripe mangoes 2
  • Chilly powder 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coconut oil 1 tsp
  • Mustard 1/2 tsp
  • Urad dhal 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Red chilly 1 ( broken )
  • Curds ½ cup
  • Brown sugar 1 -2 tsp ( to taste )

Grind to paste :

  • Coconut 3-4 tbsp
  • Cumin 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilly 4-5 ( to taste

Method :

  • Cut mangoes to big pieces.
  • In a pan add mangoes with ½ cup water ,turmeric and chilly powder.Allow it to boil for few 5 min.
  • Add the ground coconut paste with little water and salt. Let it cook for 5 -7 minutes.
  • Care should be taken not to over cook the mango pieces for it will dissolve quickly.
  • Now tamper it with mustard ,urad dhal ,curry leaves and red chilly.
  • When the curry gets to room temperature add curds .
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve with steaming rice.

Note :

  • when mangoes are not in season tinned mangoes can be used.
