A taste bud teaser !!
This spicy curry is a sure shot and it can never go wrong.Also it steals the hearts of foodies.Whenever there was a vegetarian spread for guests at home ,this was always there.
Ingredients :
- Pumkin 200 gms ( big cubes )
- Tamarind extract 1 cup
- Brown sugar 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves a few
- Red chilly powder ¾ tsp
- Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
- Mustard ¼ tsp
- Urad dhal ¼ tsp
- Gingely Oil 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Method :
- In a kadai heat oil , throw mustard as it splutters add urad dhal ,allow it to brown.
- Add curry leaves ,now add the tamarind juice let it boil for a few minutes.
- As it boils add red chilly powder , turmeric & salt.
- Vegetable and mix ,close and cook till soft.
- Add brown sugar and cook on slow flame till oil float on the top.
- Serve hot with rice ,roti or dosa.
Note :
- This curry will stay for a couple of days.
