Uniquely Flavored Rice !!

The coconut with mustard and chilies gives a aromatic flavor.

Ingredients :

  • Cooked Rice 1 cup
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Green chilly 1
  • Small onions 4
  • Cashew 5
  • Mustard ¼ tsp
  • Urad dhal ¼ tsp
  • Channa dhal ¼ tsp
  • Oil 1 tsp
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Lime 1/2
  • Hing ¼ tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Brown sugar 1/2 – 1 tsp

Grind to paste :

  • Red chilly 2
  • Mustard ½ tsp
  • Coconut 11/2 tbsp

Method :

  • To a cup of cooked rice mix lime juice , salt and turmeric.
  • In a kadai heat oil ,add mustard ,urad dhal and channa dhal ,allow it to splutter.
  • Add onions ,curry leaves ,cashew and green chilly.
  • Add the ground paste and brown sugar , fry well.
  • Add the rice to it and mix well.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with Papad, Appalam or Pickle.
