A taste bud teaser !!

This spicy curry is a sure shot and it can never go wrong.Also it steals the hearts of foodies.Whenever there was a vegetarian spread for guests at home ,this was always there.

Ingredients :

  • Pumkin 200 gms ( big cubes )
  • Tamarind extract 1 cup
  • Brown sugar 1 tbsp
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Red chilly powder ¾ tsp
  • Turmeric powder ¼ tsp
  • Mustard ¼ tsp
  • Urad dhal ¼ tsp
  • Gingely Oil 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method :

  • In a kadai heat oil , throw mustard as it splutters add urad dhal ,allow it to brown.
  • Add curry leaves ,now add the tamarind juice let it boil for a few minutes.
  • As it boils add red chilly powder , turmeric & salt.
  • Vegetable and mix ,close and cook till soft.
  • Add brown sugar and cook on slow flame till oil float on the top.
  • Serve hot with rice ,roti or dosa.

Note :

  • This curry will stay for a couple of days.
