All Time Favourite !!
Spicy Tomato Thokku is one of favourite of the household and is present there on the weekly menu without fail. This is a very suitable side dish for the South Indian breakfast or dinner. The tanginess of tomato with species is simply delicious .
Ingredients :
- Tomato 3-4 (pureed )
- Onions 1 ( sliced )
- Turmeric ¼ tsp
- Red chilly powder ½ – ¾ tsp ( to tase )
- Salt to taste
- Mustard ¼ tsp
- Urad dhal ¼ tsp
- Oil 1 tbsp
Method :
- In a pan heat oil ,throw in mustard ,urad dhal ,allow it to splutter.
- Add onions ,curry leaves ,green chilly ,turmeric and toss till onions are transparent.
- Add the pureed tomato ,chilli powder ,salt and boil till raw smell leaves.
- Garnish with coriander leaves .
- Serve hot with Pongal , Dosa , Iddly .
