Healthy and wholesome meal.
This is a very filling meal which is blend with peas , tomato and ginger garlic paste .
The millet by itself is bland but with addition of spices and vegetable makes it very tasty.
Ingredients :
- Samai 1 cup
- Peas 1 cup
- Onion 1
- Tomatoes 2
- Turmeric ¼ tsp
- Curry leaves a few
- Red Chilly 1
- Green chilly 2
- Curry leaves a few
- Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
- Lime juice 1 tbsp
- Oil 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Method :
- Heat ghee in a cooker ,add mustard as it splutters add urad dhal ,allow it to splutter.
- Add onions ,curry leaves ,red and green chilly and allow it to turn colour.
- Add tomatoes ,allow it to get mushy .
- Add ginger garlic paste and toss.
- Add turmeric , salt ,and toss
- Add samai and toss.
- Add water and lime juice , give it a mix.
- Close with the lid and cook under pressure for 10 min.
- Open the lid and give it a mix.
- Drizzle ghee and garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney.
