This is a very different tasting gravy . The species are strong and very pungent a unique tasting which is loved by all .Kala Mutton Masala is adapted from my mother’s friend kitchen . But was regularly made at home. When the children were growing up it was most loved dish and was made regularly.

Ingredients :

  • Cut Meat 250 gms
  • Minced meat 250 gms
  • Onions 2 (chopped )
  • Tomato 2 (chopped )
  • Mint Leaves a handful
  • Turmeric 1/4 tsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves to garnish

Dry roast & Grind to Paste :

  • Pepper 3/4tbsp
  • Green Cardamom 3 – 4
  • Black Cardamom 1
  • Cumin 3/4 tbsp

Method :

  • In a cooker heat oil fry the onions till transparent.
  • Add tomato and fry till mushy.
  • Now add the ground paste and fry .
  • Add mint leaves and toss .
  • Now add the meat pieces and minced meat and toss.
  • Add water ,salt and cook for 10 to 15 minutes (approx. 4 -5 whistles),till soft.
  • Open the lid and fry well till oil separates.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Suits rice/chapatthi /dosa.
