Irresistible Delicacy !!

The juicy Bindi is fried into a simple drooling dish with addition of mild spices and coconut it is one of the sought after dishes .It happens to be children’s favourite one which would be on the weekly menu without fail .

Ingredients :

  • Bindi 200 gms
  • Chilly powder ½ tsp
  • Oil 11/4 tbsp
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Mustard ¼ tsp
  • Urad dhal ¼ tsp
  • Channa dhal ¼ tsp
  • Small onions 3-4 ( chopped )
  • Red chilly 1
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Coconut Grated a cup
  • Salt to taste

Method :-

  • In a pan heat oil , add the chopped bindi.
  • Fry well on and off .
  • Add turmeric and stir.
  • Let the colour change and the bindi get cooked.
  • Add chilli powder ,salt and toss.
  • In another pan heat oil.
  • Add mustard ,urad and channa dhal ,let it splutter .
  • Add chopped onions ,red chilly and curry leaves ,let it change colour.
  • Add it to the fried bindi and give it a toss.
  • Add the grated coconut ,give it a toss.
  • Serve hot with rice or roti .
