Yes it is Kheema time !!

Kheema Biriyani is a all time favourite in our household Guest time is usually Kheema Biriyani time .It has never failed to steal the hearts of our guests.

Ingredients :

  • Minced meat 500 gms
  • Jeeraka Samba 2 cups
  • Onions 2
  • Tomato 2
  • Mint leaves a cup
  • Cardamom 4
  • Cloves 4
  • Cinnamon 2”
  • Ghee & oil 2 tbsp ( coconut oil )
  • Garam Masala 1 tsp ( optional )
  • Curd 1 cup

Grind to paste :

  • Coriander Leaves a cup
  • Onions 1 ½
  • Green chilly 7-8 ( to taste )
  • Dry roast & grind :
  • Poppy seeds 1 tbsp
  • Almonds 7

Method :

  • Heat oil & ghee mixture ,throw in species ,as it splutters add onions allow it to brown.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and toss it.
  • Add tomatoes and fry till mushy.
  • Add mint leaves and toss.
  • Time to add meat and toss.
  • Now add the coriander chilli onion paste and toss.
  • Time to add almond poppy seeds paste , curds and salt ,close with a lid and cook till meat is tender.
  • Add required water ( usual ratio is 1 : 2 one rice ,two water )
  • Add salt squeeze lemon juice ( optional ) mix and cook for 10 – 15 min on slow flame.
  • Open and mix ,add a spoon of ghee and coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with onion raita.
