A yummy kari / mutton kuzhambu which is a very easy preparation and really with a authentic taste.The blend of whole spices with coconut ,cashew and poppy seeds enriches texture and the taste as well.

Ingredients :

  • Meat 500 gms
  • Onions 2 ( sliced )
  • Tomatoes 2 ( chopped )
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Grind to paste :

  • Red chilly 5-6 ( to taste )
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Coconut 1 tbsp
  • Cashew 4-5
  • Poppy seeds 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
  • Cumin 1 tsp
  • Fennel ½ TSP
  • Cloves 2-3
  • Cinnamon 1”
  • Garlic 6-7
  • Ginger ½ “

Method :

  • In a cooker heat oil , saute onions to brown color.
  • Add curry leaves and toss.
  • Now add tomatoes and let it turn mushy.
  • Add the meat and toss.
  • Add the ground paste and toss.
  • Add water as required ,close and pressure cook till meat is soft.
  • Once it is soft allow it to boil till oil separates .
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
