Mushroom Gravy is all time favourite !!

Mushroom is simply one of the tastiest of foods. This gravy is very easy to make .

The spices with ground coconut paste simply elevates the Mushroom flavour.

Ingredients :

  • Mushrooms 200 gms
  • Onion 1 ( chopped )
  • Tomato 1( chopped )
  • Coriander powder ¾ tsp
  • Red chilly powder ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Fennel ½ tsp
  • Turmeric ¼ tsp
  • Cinnamon 1’
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Grind to a paste :

  • Coconut 2-3 tbsp ( grated )
  • Garlic 1 pearl
  • Ginger ½ ‘ (optional )
  • Cashew 3-4

Method :

  • In a pan heat oil ,throw in fennel ,cinnamon , curry leaves, let it splutter.
  • Add onions and let it change colour.
  • Add tomato and let it get mushy.
  • Add turmeric and salt ,toss well.
  • Add the chopped mushrooms and toss.
  • Add red chilly powder , coriander powder and toss.
  • Add water ,mix it ,close and cook .( 5-7 min approx.)
  • Now add the ground paste with some water ,close and cook ,open and for a bit cook till raw smell leaves.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with roti/ dosa/ rice.
