Tomato Dosa is a quick dish .Tomatoes blended with species and rice is high on flavour .A very wholesome Dosa and always stands out in a spread. Tangy tomatoes are loved by one and all and hence its all time favourite. This is bachelor friendly too ,for not much time is needed to spend on it.

Ingredients :

  • Idly rice 2 cups
  • Whole Urad dhal 2-3 tbsp
  • Tomatoes 4-5 ( small &ripe )
  • Red chilly 2
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Cumin ¾ tsp
  • Asafoetida 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to drizzle

Method :

  • Soak rice and dhal for 3-4 hours or overnight.
  • In a mixer jar add chilly ,cumin , curry leaves ,asafoetida and salt ,grind coarsely.
  • Now add the soaked & washed rice dhal mix ,and grind to a smooth batter.
  • Now add the chopped tomatoes and grind well.
  • Transfer to a bowl.
  • Heat a dosa tawa and take a big spoonful of the batter , spread evenly and drizzle oil.
  • When its cooked flip the sides and allow the other side also to cook to light brown ,fold it half and take it off the pan.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney / onion chutney.
