Tomato Dosa is a quick dish .Tomatoes blended with species and rice is high on flavour .A very wholesome Dosa and always stands out in a spread. Tangy tomatoes are loved by one and all and hence its all time favourite. This is bachelor friendly too ,for not much time is needed to spend on it.
Ingredients :
- Idly rice 2 cups
- Whole Urad dhal 2-3 tbsp
- Tomatoes 4-5 ( small &ripe )
- Red chilly 2
- Curry leaves a few
- Cumin ¾ tsp
- Asafoetida 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil to drizzle
Method :
- Soak rice and dhal for 3-4 hours or overnight.
- In a mixer jar add chilly ,cumin , curry leaves ,asafoetida and salt ,grind coarsely.
- Now add the soaked & washed rice dhal mix ,and grind to a smooth batter.
- Now add the chopped tomatoes and grind well.
- Transfer to a bowl.
- Heat a dosa tawa and take a big spoonful of the batter , spread evenly and drizzle oil.
- When its cooked flip the sides and allow the other side also to cook to light brown ,fold it half and take it off the pan.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney / onion chutney.
