Who does ‘nt like Pongal !!

A swooning Delicacy in a healthy way !!

Ingredients :

  • Banyard millet 1 cup
  • Moong dhal 2 tbsp
  • Ginger ½ tsp
  • Green chilly 1 (optional)
  • Cashew 7
  • Jeera ¼ tsp
  • Pepper ¼ tsp
  • Curry leaves a few
  • Asafetida ¼ tsp
  • Ghee & oil 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste

Method :

  • In a cooker heat oil add jeera ,pepper ,as it splutters add green chilly , cashew , ginger and curry leaves.
  • Add the washed millet dhal mixture and toss.
  • Add asafetida , salt and 3 cups water mix well and cook under pressure for 10 min.
  • Generously add ghee ,mix well and serve hot .
  • Green coconut chutney or sambar or pongal kuzhambu or tomatoe goggu will be a good combination.
