A scrumptious ,must try delicacy !!

One of my favorite dish ,which used to come from my be sties home every Christmas ,eventually i learnt to make it !!

Ingredients :

  • Raw rice 1 cup
  • Coconut 1 cup (grated )
  • Sugar ¼ – ½ cup ( to taste )
  • Salt to taste
  • Yeast ¾ tsp
  • Ghee 1- 2 tsp
  • Rasins few ( optional )

Method :

  • Soak the rice for 5-6 hrs ( overnight also recommended )
  • Grind the rice well with sugar and coconut , using water.( take care not to make it very watery )
  • Add salt ,mix well.
  • Add the yeast with luke warm water and ½ tsp of sugar and close it with a lid .
  • Allow it to ferment.
  • Now smear round plates with ghee and pour the batter .
  • Raisins can be drizzled on the top if preferred.
  • Steam for 10 -15 min.
  • Serve hot with chicken or mutton or beef stew.
