A very mild spicy pulao which never fails to captures eveybody’s heart .This is a mouth watering one which is also good on the stomach.A good choice for lunch box kids will love this.

Ingredients :

  • Basmathi Rice 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 – 11/2 tsp
  • Onions 1 (chopped )
  • Mint leaves a handful
  • Green chilly 4 ( to taste )
  • Bay leaf 1
  • Cinnamon 2 “
  • Cardamon 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil 1- 2 tbsp
  • Mushrooms 200 gms
  • Coriander leaves to garnish

Method :

  • In a cooker heat oil add the whole spices , as it splutters add onions ,allow it to brown.
  • Add green chilly ,mint leaves and chopped mushrooms and toss.
  • Add water ( approx. 2 – 21/2 ) as it boils add rice, salt and stir .
  • Close with a lid and cook for 10 – 15 min under pressure .
  • Garnish with coriander leaves .
  • Serve hot with onion raita.

Note :

  • Lime juice can be added too ,if preferred.
  • A spoon of ghee can be added with coriander leaves.
