A very spicy chutney ,the sweetness of the vegetable with chilly and tamarind gives an amazing taste.
Ingredients :
- Beetroot 1 no [medium size –peeled and grated ]
- Red chilly 3 nos
- Channa dhal 1 to11/2 tbs
- Urad dhal 1 to 11/2 tbs
- Tamarind ½ “ piece
- Coconut 2 to 3 tbs [grated]
- Oil 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
Method :
- In a kadai heat oil add channa dhal as it changes colour add urad dhal ,when that browns add chilly,then add the grated beetroot and fry for 7 to 10 minutes on slow fire.Switch off the flame ,add coconut tamarind and salt. When it turns to room temperature grind it to coarsely .
- Suits well with steaming rice,dosa ,iddli.
